Let's Do That Oath Thing Again--We Wouldn't Want Somebody Claiming Later On That Barack's Presidency Is Not Constitutionally Valid (Now Would We?)

I nearly fell out of my JC Penney outlet store dining room chair when I heard that Barack Obama and Chief Justice John Roberts were reunited today for a second attempt at the Presidential Oath of Office, one and a half days after the original was muffed so badly by Justice Roberts and Mr. Obama.

Rumblings in the media and misgivings amongst the legal beagles at the Justice Department converged harmoniously into one consensus decision that it would be best to have a "super-abundance" of caution in making sure that all constitutional "i"s were dotted and "t"s crossed before proceeding with the messianic presidency of Mr. Obama, so as to avoid the potential embarrassing (and logical) scenario described by one law professor at George Washington University, i.e., that "there are going to be people who for the next four years are going to argue that he didn't meet the constitutional standard" as a result of the infelicitously administered oath.

Hmmm.  Ultra-scrupulous about constitutional requirements, aren't we?

Seems to me there was this one little misplaced, long-forgotten, anachronistic and forlorn constitutional requirement that was a non-issue during the campaign, though it should have been settled and met LONG, LONG BEFORE we ever got to the $170 million inauguration ceremony.

It's called being a natural-born citizen.

Where was this constitutional law professor from academia when the Obama campaign--and their sycophants in the illiberal media--were covering up the fact that Obama had never demonstrated, by means of a simple, original birth certificate (not a Certification of Live Birth fraudulently altered and posted on the Internet!), that he met this clear-cut, no-nonsense requirement?

Here is WorldNetDaily's take on this.

Once again, we have the hypocritical double standard conveniently applied by the illiberal left when it comes to "preserving, protecting and defending" one of their own.

To use appropriate biblical language borrowed from the Real Messiah, Jesus, our so-called leadership (political scribes, lawyers, pharisees, hypocrites) exhibit unmistakeably that they are nothing but blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel."  (Matthew 23:24)

  1. Paul, I don't know if you're getting these comments, but here goes...
I read today's post after having read that WND article yesterday. I watched the video of the swearing in and noticed Justice Roberts originally stated "faithfully" at the end of the oath, not the beginning. Even though it may have been written as such, I believe "President" Obama was following Roberts' lead. This may or may not be a good thing. But I lay half the blame at Roberts' feet. I'll have to watch it again...
