Why Does 'Eligibility' Matter? Two Reasons: The Constitution Says Our National Leader Must Be a 'Natural Born Citizen'--and the Bible Says That, Too!

This past election cycle our U.S. Constitution was selectively observed by the current, acting president (and his handlers and supporters).

Mr. Obama made scrupulously sure that he took the oath of office a second time on the day following his inauguration--to make up for the flawed, potentially constitutionally invalid blooper version he and Justice Roberts did the day before!--but he was strangely cavalier and disingenuous throughout his campaign in the handling of the much larger constitutional question of 'eligibility.'

Well, there's another 'controlling legal authority' that ought to be consulted in this matter.

In reading through the Old Testament book of Deuteronomy, an interesting passage appears at the end of Chapter 17.  Moses is rehearsing a number of civil and religious laws for the people to follow as they prepare to enter their new homeland and set up their government and economic/financial systems.  Among a plethora of commands and moral and ethical precepts, he includes this brief 'eligibility' requirement to be imposed on whoever the people would choose ("elect") to become their national leader and ruler in times of war and adversity, peace and prosperity:

14 “When you come to the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, ‘I will set a king over me like all the nations that are around me,’ 15 you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 16 But he shall not multiply horses for himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt to multiply horses, for the LORD has said to you, ‘You shall not return that way again.’ 17 Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.
18 “Also it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book, from the one before the priests, the Levites. 19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and be careful to observe all the words of this law and these statutes, 20 that his heart may not be lifted above his brethren, that he may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.

Did you read that?  Aside from the fact that this brief set of qualifications would serve any nation well if its leadership were to implement and enforce it, embedded within this list is what could be considered the original, biblical predecessor to our constitution's 'natural born citizen' requirement.

The key verse here is fifteen.  I'll cite it again: 

15 you shall surely set a king over you whom the LORD your God chooses; one from among your brethren you shall set as king over you; you may not set a foreigner over you, who is not your brother. 

I'll leave any commentary and biblical exegesis and historical interpretation of this to others. Suffice to say, though, that the idea of natural born citizenship was clearly not just an arbitrary, discriminatory restriction placed in the founding documents of our country by a group of eighteenth-century, narrow-minded white European bigots conspiring to form an elitist government comprised of nothing but their "home boys"!

The fact is, Obama has never demonstrated--with a simple birth certificate like everybody else has to provide to prove their citizenship (not a fraudulently altered "certificate of live birth," which non-residents get in lieu of a birth certificate)--that he meets this qualification. Of course, it has become all too obvious to many, that the powers that be in America no longer care what the Constitution, or the Bible, have to say, especially when these outdated relics do not agree with their socialist agenda.

No, the Orwellian, Neo-Marxist World Order must go on!

At Least Pres. Clinton Soothed Us By Saying He 'Felt Our Pain'--Obama Says, 'Get Over It'--the Stock Market Meltdown is Irrelevant to My Agenda!

The Professor told his pupils at the CNN news conference to forgetuhboutit--the current stock market descent is like an erratic public opinion poll.  A fickle, unreliable indicator of the nation's true economic health.  Meaningless!  Irrelevant!  No worries, comrades.  Just stick with me, you'll be fine.  (After all, who are you gonna believe? me or your lying eyes?)

Meanwhile the patient is in cardiac arrest and bleeding to death on the operating table...

But Doctor O. says keep cutting!  Keep burning!  Keep poisoning!  This radical (but FDA-approved, AMA-certified, doctor-recommended) political surgery will work.  I know it will.  My marxist-leninist mentors have assured me it will!  Remember, I'm the doctor now.  You must consent to my prescribed course of action, my "long-term strategy."  It will work.  It must work! (My Alinsky 'Rules' Book says so!)

You see, my fellow Americans, here's the prognosis: unbridled bourgeois capitalism is the disease.

Unbridled, globalist-fascist bourgeois socialism is the cure!  (FDA-approved, AMA-certified, UN-recommended)

President Obama's Address to Congress: A Vision for Utopian Socialist America; War on Prosperity; 20th Century European-Style Universal Sick Care, etc

Soaring rhetoric.  Lilting prose.  Lofty promises.  This is the stuff that totalitarian demagogues and populist despots are made of.

Their success would not be possible without an endless supply of quasi-educated, misinformed, distracted voters and rapacious political allies and sycophants.  (And, of course, in Obama's case, a fawning press full of mesmerized media groupies gushing about their "rock star" president as they take turns licking his boots.) 

If only the American people knew more about world and U.S. history.  They would not be so gullible and easily bedazzled with silver-tongued orators.  They would not have allowed the enormous electoral fraud and subsequent political coup that is taking place right before their eyes!

Everything Obama promises in this speech hearkens back to the fundamental communist platform of Marx's 1848 Manifesto.  Pick it up and read it.

Alan Keyes Has Some Harsh Words for the President Formerly Known as Senator: "Obama is a Radical Communist"!!

Fasten your seat belt because this brief interview with Alan Keyes is strictly a bare-knuckled affair!

Gee, why does Keyes beat around the bush when it comes to talking about Obama? Why doesn't he just say what's on his mind!   One thing you have to admire about the man.  He is definitely not a waffling, milquetoast conservative looking for ways to "reach across the aisle."

Keyes is such a staunch conservative that last April (2008) he left the Republican Party to join the fledgling Independent American Party.  In other words, he broke ranks and went off to join a group that represents what the Republican Party used to be! (Before it was overrun with compromisers and soft-headed socialists.)

(With acknowledgements to former President Ronald Reagan and his famous 1987 speech in front of Brandenburg Gate at the Berlin Wall, where he adjured 'Mr. Gorbachev' to 'tear down this wall!')

I refer to the so-called "Fairness Doctrine," that onerous wall of liberal protectionism that the federal government erected in the 1940s to hedge about the commercial radio industry with an aura of "balance" and "diversity" of opinion in its programming.  

Of course, the 'Fairness Doctrine' had the practical effect of stifling free speech and stunting the growth of AM radio (beyond music & community bulletin board formats), but that's bound to happen whenever some kind of government-induced affirmative action program is artificially imposed on the real world, with certain specific outcomes desired, without regard to how they distort and truncate the marketplace unfairly!

Here is a Wall Street Journal editorial column published today, written by a man who singlehandedly revived talk radio in the late 1980's--after the Fairness Doctrine was mercifully abandoned (actually, vetoed by Pres. Reagan after the Democrat-controlled Congress tried to reinstate it)--and is considered Public Enemy Number One in the eyes of the Obama administration and the socialists/neo-Marxist elitists in Washington, Rush Limbaugh, on the very subject of reinstating something akin to this wholly unconstitutional and immoral approach to "fairness" on the radio:

Rush quoted from this piece today on his radio program.  It's well worth reading and taking very seriously by those who love and cherish freedom, especially freedom of speech.

If any reincarnation of the Unfairness Doctrine should arise and become law--regardless of what euphemistic epithet they conjure up to call it--it will prove that America once again--this time under the watch of the Obama administration--has lapsed into another fit of left-wing totalitarian tampering and unethical intervention, evinced by government manipulation, intrusion and insinuation into any and every aspect of the free market that it deems "unfair," even to the subversive squelching of freedoms guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. (But, after all, who pays any attention to that old relic!)
